Dog training: When you’re one of THOSE people!!!

We have two beautiful German Shepherd Dogs! They are amazing family pets and we love them to bits! Sparky is nine and a half years old, Nala is almost three.

Since we had Sparky before we had kids, we spent a lot of time with him, socialising him and taking him out of the house. Because Nala joined our family when the kids were 5, 4 and 2, we had a little less time for her, so we felt she would benefit from some dog training to socialise her before our caravan trip!

So we signed Nala up for a local 6-week dog training program and on Saturday night was the 6th lesson! As hubby was on night shift, I asked that he keeps the kids with him while he’s getting ready, and only drops them off with me on his way through to work, so for the last 15 minutes of the class.

We started at the regular park, but very soon into the lesson, the trainer said we’d be heading over to the local dog park. I sent my husband a message about the change of location and thought nothing more of it.

At the front of the dog park, the trainer mentioned THOSE people who come to the dog park, let their dog loose, start chit chatting and stop paying attention to the dogs. As well as THOSE people who bring balls and toys (he meant dog toys and balls, they cause fights! But the irony of the soccer ball….).

We continued on with the dog training until the husband arrived. He got Sparky out of the car and let him loose in the park. Then the kids ran in with a soccer ball. And he just stopped by to say ‘bye’, and left me standing there, being one of THOSE people! 😂😂😂

Husbands, I tell ya!!
