Why I treasure every picture drawn by my kids

Have you ever considered, that kids don’t have anything of theirs they can give? They can’t go to shops and buy you flowers or a gift. They can’t take you out for a treat. Often, the only thing that is truly theirs to give away is a picture drawn by them! Kids’ artwork is truly precious in that way!

Minimalism and laundry routine: Regain control and sanity

Minimising our house has been one of the best things we have done, for so many reasons! One of the biggest ones is my laundry habits! Who knew that all I needed was a bit of minimalism and a solid laundry routine!

How minimalism changed my laundry habits

Laundry had been my nemesis for years! You know those memes “Did you know there are people who wash, dry, fold and put away their laundry all in one day? Yeah, I’m confused, too!”? That used to be me!! The confused one, I mean!

Self care matters! Plus a little update on where we’re at!

Today we’re taking a small break for self care

I’d like to say everything is going fantastic, things are disappearing out of the house and it’s all perfect!

Well, all these statements are true, we have done extremely well! Things really are disappearing out of our house: we’ve sold the kids beds and our bed, as well as lots of other things! Continue reading

Our dream: Going around Australia in a Caravan!

Our dream

I can’t believe I still haven’t written about it, but ever since my husband and I got together we have been talking about doing the big lap. We dreamed about buying a caravan and spending a year going around Australia. In fact, while looking through my computer recently, I found folders from 2009 with caravan brochures, prices and information.

Minimialism with kids – how to start

Minimalism – find what works for you!

Minimalism may mean different things to different people. To me, a minimalist lifestyle doesn’t necessarily mean that you have nothing in your house. It means that you’re surrounded by fewer things, but that everything you own is either useful/practical, or it gives you true joy when you look at it and hold it.

Amazing Guide to Lunches by Kylie from Kidgredients

As a lover of monthly shopping and fool-proof kid recipes, it is my pleasure to recommend The Kidgredients Guide to Awesome Lunches! It is not just a recipe book, but a great resource, packed with fantastic information about health and nutrition, lunchbox packing tips, as well as my favourite: tips for once-a-month-baking! I’ve already got my copy: having pre-prepared lunches in the freezer is extremely useful not just when you have to have a lunchbox ready every day for school, but also when you homeschool! I am very excited to be an affiliate for Kylie’s amazing book, because I do truly think it is brilliant! Best of all, it is only $10.00!

*As an affiliate I will get a small commission when you purchase the book, however it comes at NO extra cost to you!

Our journey: Minimalism – how it all started!

Minimalism

I came across minimalism by accident. I was overwhelmed with life – with trying to maintain a home with three young children, while homeschooling. I felt there were just not enough hours in the day to look after the kids, teach them, feed them a healthy diet, keep a clean house, be a good wife, and be happy! We were buried under paperwork, toys and knick knacks! I had to dust daily underneath and between all the candles, statues, vases and photo frames. It was time consuming and frankly – depressing. I’d had enough! I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff we had and I decided to purge what I could!

The new school year starts in less than a week and I’m writing this as a homeschooler, so I should be very stressed right now, however, 2017 is now going to be our 5th year homeschooling and in the past couple of years I have worked out several things that make my life much easier and less stressful!

Since I have been asked so many times about homeschooling, how it works and my tips regarding it, I thought I’d better write about it!  Continue reading
